I want to start off by apologizing to my regular readers! I had planned to post my following review and recommendation of Checkout 51 last Friday, but life had other ideas. Hubby was in a little car accident. He fell asleep at the wheel driving to work at about 4:45am and rolled our Chevy Tahoe. He’s not positive how many times it rolled, but he knows that the drivers side hit the ground at least 3 times before landing on the drivers side. The vehicle is totaled, but he was able to climb out of the passenger window and walk away from the crash. Beat up and bloody, he only needed 3 stitches in his chin. You can see a picture of him right after the wreck on my Facebook page.
As a stay-at-home mom living on my husband’s income, saving money is always a priority for me. Even if it’s inconvenient, even if it would be easier to buy whatever I wanted without taking money into consideration.
These days every penny counts.
Can you relate? Do you budget, pinch pennies, and say no to a lot of the fun activities that come along in the name of making your car payment?
I have a lot of different techniques I use to try to save as much money as I can on groceries. You can read about all of my tactics here.
One of my favorite ways to save money is by using Checkout 51.
Every Thursday Checkout 51 updates it’s rebate database. New offers are added while others may be removed.
If you purchase an item that Checkout 51 is offering a rebate for, you let the app know after your grocery trip & upload your receipt to prove you are being honest.
Checkout 51 processes the receipt and credits your account within 48 hours. When you reach $20, you can cash out your money and Checkout 51 sends you a check in the mail! That’s something I like a lot about this app. A lot of others make you use PayPal or choose a gift card, but now so with this one!
One really cool fact: You don’t have to download the app to your phone to use Checkout 51!
This awesome money saving application can be used on your tablet, on your computer and on your smart phone. Perfect for those people who don’t want to waste precious phone memory on yet another money saving app!
Granted, Checkout 51 doesn’t have a rebate list as extensive as Ibotta. There aren’t hundreds of options. But a lot of the time Checkout 51 and Ibotta have rebates for some of the same items at the same time.
(Oh, and you can learn more about Ibotta here. It’s my favorite rebate app, hands down!)
I really love it when I can find coupons for the items with rebates, too. Just last week I saved a little over $25 on my groceries by using Checkout 51, Ibotta and coupons. It was an amazing feeling!
I highly recommend this easy way to save money to EVERYONE. Even if money isn’t tight, there’s no reason not to try to save money where you can. And with it being as easy as using Checkout 51, there’s really no reason not to give it a try! What do you have to lose?
