After Bee was born, money was tight and life was kind of crazy. Getting used to a new little baby, trying to keep up with housework, running on just a couple hours of sleep. I wanted to try to find a way to start contributing to our bank account from home, but I was barely finding the time to do laundry every day! Even though I hated spending our money and never helping replenish it, making money wasn’t on the top of my daily to-do list.

Eventually things calmed down, life started feeling normal again, we got into a nice routine. That’s when I decided to look into ways I could bring in a little money from home.
About 6 months ago I found Swagbucks. This is an awesome website that allows you to make small amounts of money all day, every day. You can watch videos for a few cents each set, you can earn 10 cents a day playing games, you can take surveys to earn anywhere from 50 cents to $30 (yes, one day I found and participated in a $30 survey!). If you use their search engine, there’s a chance you’ll score some “SB”s, too. Download the mobile app and it will inform you daily of special codes that, when used on their website, award you more money.
Each day Swagbucks sets a daily goal for it’s members. I’ve come to learn that this goal changes based on your activity on their page. The more SBs you earn in a day, the higher your goal will be the following day. Every day you reach your goal you are awarded a bonus that is usually, although not always, 10% of your goal. Reaching your goal 7, 14, 21 or every day of the month also awards you another bonus. Bonuses are given out within the first couple days of the following month.
At the end of last month I cashed out some of my Swagbucks for an Amazon gift card. This gift card brought the total amount of money I have received from Swagbucks since starting in January to $300. That’s about $50 a month! It’s not a ton of money, I know, but I’ve used it exclusively for birthday and Father’s Day gifts this year. After Bee’s birthday in July, all the SBs I earn will be saved until the end of November for Christmas gifts.
Each SB is the equivalent of a penny. Making a dollar in a day might seem daunting when most activities only pay out a couple cents, but it really isn’t that difficult if you are a SAH mom like me and have access to a computer and internet all day. Videos generally run by themselves, so I like to start a set and let it run while I’m cleaning or making dinner. Sometimes at the end of the day I just search for a survey so I can hit my goal and be done with it! Some days are harder than others and it can be a bit annoying, but it’s basically free money, so I’m not going to complain!
In conclusion, I highly recommend every SAH mom give it a try. Maybe you’ll find out it isn’t for you… or maybe you’ll love it and find a way to make more money than I do every month! Oh, and if you do join, feel free to use me as a referral! I’ll make 10% of everything you make. So, if you turn into a crazy obsessed Swagbucker such as myself, it’ll be great for me! UPDATE 2/15/17: I have now participated in multiple surveys and product tests through Swagbucks.com that have paid out $30+. They are few and far between, but definitely worth applying for when they come along!
I’ve really slowed down on my Swagbucks usage the last few months. Life has been nuts and I’ve been using all of my free time to work on my blog. As of today I have made $373.68 through Swagbucks. I still believe this is a GREAT website that allows people tons of opportunities to make cash from their computer and it’s definitely worth giving a try!
